I know that a vegan and a vegetarian are extremely similar. But both of their definition are not exactly the same. How does a vegan differ from a vegetarian?

Answers:
A vegan doesn't eat any animal products. So, a vegan would not eat anything made with milk (like cheese, butter, ice cream) or eggs. A vegan is like a subcategory of vegetarian. There are many types of vegetarians, but most people call themselves vegetarian if they don't eat meat, poultry, or fish.

Other Answers:
vegans eat nothing from animals which includes milk and egg products

Vegans are from Vega. Both only eat veggies, but vegans eat NOTHING with dairy... no cake, chocolate, bread (could have milk), cookies, etc.
Hope this helps!
I never before...

A vegetarian does not eat meat. A vegan not only avoids meat, but also does not eat animal products (eg. cheese, gelatin, eggs)
Source(s):
I'm a vegetarian but not a vegan. Strict vegans dont eat meat/fish and other animal products like eggs and milk.

Vegans do not eat any form of animal, like eggs, milk, cheese, gelatin etc.. There are vegetarians who may or may not eat eggs, cheese or milk. Vegans, again, do not eat any animal products and usually don't wear any either.

A vegetarian eats vegetables and dairy may eat fish as well. The guy on the outback commercial also eats Pork and Beef and chicken. No he is carnivore.

i dint know they were different but after going thru all this answer iam now clear with the difference between vegan and vegetarian.iam a vegetarian. vegans say that they don't eat animal products even
They 4get that women/men go in the same category

Vegetarian ==> Can be either lacto vegetaian, ovo vegetarian or ovo-lacto vegetarian
Lacto vegetarian ==> Eats nothing from animal source except milk and milk products
Ovo vegetarian ==> Eats nothing from animal source except eggs
Ovo-Lacto vegetarian ==> Eats nothing from animal source except milk and egg products

However, most of the vegetarians (all categories) consume honey, where as vegans mostly do not

Most of the vegetarians in India (with a big percent of population are vegetarians) are Lacto vegetarians
