Legume is French for vegetable.
Leguminous plants are those that fix the nitrogen to the soil and hence, must be planted after each cash crop to fertilize the soil once again.
Egg Plant, peas, peanuts etc are legumes.
Going vegan isn't a bad deal. Because veg is healthier than meat!
Lower cholesterol and greater nutrition.
About 60 to 70 % of the people of Asia are vegan and they ain't no weaklings!
You'll find a lot of vegan alternatives to your favorite meat dishes which are almost non fattening and healthy!
Check out all the sites you can by doing a Google Search for Vegan Recipes! There are, literally, hundreds of thousands of them.

In standard English "legumes" refer to seeds in podded vegetables, such as beans, lentils and even peas. However, in American English sometimes, just sometimes, you will read in food articles the word as used in French, where it refers to all vegetables.
Beans, peas, lentils, and also peanuts. Excellent source of protein and fiber.
