I personally am trying to grow them myself this year... That's about as local as you can get.

buy organic - they taste much better - i hated tomatoes till i tried those - or vine ripened. stick them in your oven for a couple of hours on gas mark 1 or less - delicious. Incidentally organic potatoes are a real revelation!!!
