try this web site, it has loads of vegan recipes
www.vegweb.com
Other Answers:
brocolli casserole (minus the onions) is delicious!! im not a vegetarian, but my sister is and she loves it... also, she loves mexican food and greek food - most of those restaurants have a "vegetarian" section on their menus.
Beans and Grains! Onions in particular are hard to omit because of their flavor enhancing properties, but I'm a big fan of garlic. Try going to AllRecipies.com and clicking on vegetarian. That website has the function that allows you to reject recipies with specific ingredients.
Be careful of restaurant "vegetarian" offerings. Ask them what kind of oil they use and how they cook their beans. Some use lard, bacon or fatback to flavor all the food, or they might be reusing skillets or fryers to save money and oil.
There is this thing known as an 'Idly'.
It is basically a rice pancake that has been steamed.
Try google for the recepie.
egg omlet
Vegetable stir fry
Some good veggies that work are broccoli, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, peppers etc. stir fried with some garlic and tamari.
spicy beanburger!
Get your kidney beans and chickpeas, sweetcorn-morrocan spices-cumin a must, cooked carrot, olive oil, lemon, balsamic vinegar, bit of fruit like apple for sweetness, salt an pepper, tomatoe paste if u can handle that too and cheese-add garlic if u can handle it
mash and chop add breadcrumbs if not bonding and maybe some egg
fry in olive oil and add extra cheese to melt on top
yummy!
If you are avoiding these due to stomach problems, garlic won't help. Most spices will add to stomach problems. But if you are just cooking low fat and don't like tomatoes and onions, try using less oil in your pan using garlic, curry, and a variety of sauces and spices until you find some that you like. I like to stir fry drained garbanzo beans with a peeled a cut up potato and peeled cut up garlic. I don't use alot of oil and I season it with curry and garlic powder. Just keep trying a variety of chopped veggies, beans and nuts until you find the variety you like. If most of what you eat is vegetable and grain, you won't have to concentrate so much on the low fat part because you are using vegetable oil.
best vegetarian meals, there are thousands. you may refer to vegetarian recipes written by many cooking stalwarts available at various book depots. to name a few interesting items you may make is Idli, Dosas, Upma, Dhoklas, different varieties of Sambar, Chutneys, Vadas, Noodles all without tomatoes and onions you can prepare. try out differently and find the taste yourself, it'll be excellent.
