Answers:
It IS a healthier way of living, but there are some things that aren't available in any foods except meats. L-carnitine is an amino acid necessary for the body (helps build healthy muscle tissue, and aids in burning fat) but is naturally only found in red meat. It's not hard to find, but usually comes in a gelatin (*an animal product*) capsules. The health food store, Nature's Way, carries one in veggie capsules. B-12 is the other one scarce in veg diets. Cyanocobalamin is the vegan form of it, and is also very easy to find at Rite Aid or GNC.

Nutrition is key. Make sure you know how much protein your child's body needs, and make sure they're getting it all. Know what the diet may be missing, and learn how to fix it. Really, DO your research, and make sure to use reliable sources!
