I've heard two different statements about vegetarians...I've heard that vegetarians don't eat dairy and meat...but then i've heard that vegetarians don't consider fish, chicken, eggs or turkey as meat (flesh). What exactly do REAL vegetarians eat...and can you provide your sources such as websites or personal experiences..

Answers:
Asian vegetarians eat fish, and seafood
Ovo-Lacto vegetarians eat dairy and eggs
Vegans don't eat any animals or animal products
Non red-meat eaters aren't considered vegetarian, even if they consider themselves to be vegetarian.
Vegetarians eat everything else besides animals, which is more food than not. In fact, turning vegetarian will open up, not limit, your options of what you eat

Other Answers:
veggies and tofu they eat turkey and chicken and stuff but its not the real thing

they eat..veggies

eat vegetables for every meal, or your ears will start to peel, and your eyeballs will fall out...and your feet will smell like trout!!!!!!!!!!

vegetarians do not eat anything that has a heartbeat but there are ovo-lacto that do eat dairy. vegetarians eat only plant extracts. milk and diary is permitted in vegetarianism because no animal is killed in the process of diary extraction.meat consumption of any animal is forbidden in vegetarianism.( personal experience)

There's only one thing they don't eat! .. MEAT!!!! That includes turkey, chicken, steak, w/e else has meat on it! You can eat eggs they are NOT meat! Sorry if I come off to blunt but it's not that hard to understand! Hope I helped

Giggles

Well being that most people eat meat, and veg.'s just don't like to be completly left out of a social group based on their eating habits the'll lean toward fish and chicken sometimes turkey. Not to mention christmas dinner and all the other family things the constant fights arising from you not eating the ham casserole they will compremise.
Strick veg. No butter, milk, red meat or white meat.
Fruits&nuts, Vegetables and certain cooking oils, vitaminsand other nutrients from herbal teas. Plain sugar is out, only cane suger(the brown packet) sea salts only. Organics are nice expensive though. That basically it. You eat like a wealthy rabbit at a green buffet.

anything that is not meat There are different kinds of vegetarians. None of them eat any animal flesh. If someone claims to be a vegetarian and eats fish or chicken, they are not a vegetarian.

Some vegetarians do eat eggs and dairy and some do not. The basic "rule" of thumb is that they don't eat animals.

What do vegetarians eat? Everything else!

These are the best definitions I could find:

and this site has vegetarian recipes and restaurants:

Hope this helps!

Apparently not meat!!!! A true vegetarian doesnt eat meat... that includes fish, turkey, chicken
vegetarian means- no meat!

dairy, beans, veggies, fruit, soy products, breaads.
they pretty much eat everything mines meat produces and produces with meat flavoring in it. Vegetarians DO NOT eat chicken, turkey or fish, since that defies the principle of being vegetarian.

We, vegetarians, eat tofu and soy products to meet out protein needs. Beans, sprouts and nuts also provide nutritious substitute to dead animals flesh.

Vegetarians eat dairy (eggs and milk) because they don;t involve a dead animal. However, organic and cage-cruelty free products are preferred because they come from happy animals.

Vegans do not consume dairy. There eat egg substitutes and soy milk instead.
