Kitty said: Yes.What is bulgur wheat?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(What is bulgur wheat?),it will help you,my kids.
Answers:
Bulgur is a quick-cooking form of whole wheat that has been cleaned, parboiled, dried, ground into particles and sifted into distinct sizes. Sunnyland Mills' four distinct grind sizes as well as whole kernel provide different textures and cooking properties for a variety of food applications. The result is a nutritious, versatile wheat product with a pleasant, nut-like flavor and an extended shelf-life that allows it to be stored for long periods.
Often confused with cracked wheat, bulgur differs in that it has been pre-cooked. In contrast to cracked wheat, bulgur is ready to eat with minimal cooking or, after soaking in water or broth, can be mixed with other ingredients without further cooking. Bulgur can be used in recipes calling for converted rice (and it's more nutritious than rice).
Other Answers:
That first answer was correct, but I'd like to elaborate. Another name for Bulgar wheat is Kasha. Kasha was made popular in Eastern Europe, and brought over with the immigrants during the wave of immigration in the late 1800's - early 1900's. One very popular dish is called Kasha and Varnishkas. Basically a mixture of bow tie pasta, sauteed onions and kasha -- tastes great with Ketchup added. Ever notice how things always taste better with Ketchup? - lol A famous brand name of Kasha available at most supermarkets in the kosher section is "Wolff's" kasha. Well, I hope that helps.
The answer you gave is correct. It is also used in a few mid-eastern dishes also. Plus is very healthy for you. Thats the first in here that I have seen that question asked. Thank You

the swamp ranch.
I remember BULGUR or BULGAR Whole Wheat from the USDA Government Surplus Food of the 1970's before food stamps! No one knew what to do with it, except make cookies & corn bread with wheat in it. Finally, they gave us recipe booklets with the food & we learned how to prepare it properly. A friend of mine from Germany used to laugh because she said this was only used as pig food in her country! It is a grain that can be used whole or ground as an additive to other foods in a recipe. Most people choose to use it as a filler.
oh man its yummy..replacement for rice or you can make loaves..or hot kasha cereal..(like wheatina), tabouli, knishes
