I am 25, and I stopped eating meat my freshman year of high school after that huge E Coli thing with the meat company that several fast food chains bought from. My school showed a documentary of the process and the truth of the problem to "ease our minds." But all it did for me was show me the truth of the life of factory farm animals. I became empassioned for their rights and safety, and stopped eating meat that very day. My mom was great about making me different dinners, even though the rest of family had no interest in giving up meat. She's awesome!
Now, I am the mother of two vegetarians. I teach them what nutrients their body needs and some cruelty free ways to get them. My 4 year old LOVES making tofu and fruit smoothies in the blender. He tells all his friends at preschool that he is a vegetarian and why. He is so cool! He has PETA buttons all over his backpack and "I am not a nugget" stickers on his notebooks.

Ive been a vegetarian for 20 years or so and I am bringing by child up as a vegetarian, its healthier far more vitamins and minerals a child needs and it will be up to him when he is old enough to decide if its right for him as it was for me.

No me, changed to veggie when i was 14, at the age when I could cook for yourself. Now I'm 41, does that matter ? I'm neither pale faced, sickly, on supplements, nor do I sneak in the odd plate of fish. I live a healthy, outdoor ( mainly - not right now obviously) arable farming life.
Nice to see some people turned veggie at 7 or 9, i guess they had support of family because you couldn't go veggie at that age without thier support. Although without the guidance as to where all the candy(sweets) ingredients came from its unlikely they were vegetarian, they probably just didn't eat anything that was obviously meat.
