Kitty said: Yes.Why are all vegans pale and sickly looking?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Why are all vegans pale and sickly looking?),it will help you,my kids.
Am I the only one who has noticed that all vegans are pale and sickly looking? Seems like to me, that they are suffering from malnutrition.
Answer:
I have a vegan friend - he don't look pale and sickly - he's West Indian
Not all are, but a lot of them arent getting the esential vitamins and minerals that you need in a diet from dairy foods and meat, and dont take any supplements to balance it out.
They all look like they are dying. I think we should give them a bacon roll. lol
Yes and why do all the staff in health food shops look like this? I'm a vegy by the way so no predudice here!
Vegans may not eat meat products for various convictions and beliefs which is their perogative however as a species we are omnivores and are such for a reason. Most of our essential nutrients come from animals so if you don't eat them you look like death!
they aren't "pale and sickly looking" if they diet properly. In India, large parts of the population are vegan, there is a great choice of vegan cuisine, and there is no malnutrition associated with it.
They have chosen to be vegan, yet may have taken the necessary steps on educating themselves on how to supplement there diets properly. Red beans and rice=perfect protein substitute, etc. In short, they are lacking something.
I have also noticed. Though they look so pale physically their brain is better.
I'm not quite sure why we vegans look sickly. It's kinda been freakin' me out lately. I also have growing urge to chew on my cat.
It's anaemia (a lack of iron). Vegans do not get enough iron in their diets so end up looking pale. Iron supplement pills are not terribly effective at remedying this problem.
i dont know the answer, but this has inspired me to go and get a bacon roll....
I agree, and the fact they have take supplements clearly indicates that its not healthy.
No, your'e not on your own. They remind me of the human version of how we make veal.
My chinese vegetarian friends all have rosy cheeks. Maybe it's jus the westerners.
Cos they are all gagging for a chop!
Seriously, I think that most people are not aware of what nutrients the body needs. Vegans especially have to be more aware of this with a restricted diet.
Nope, its just your unwavering bias against them that taints your view.
There are many Vegans that are healthy and don't need any specific suppliments.
You want to see unhealthy ? Just look at the largest meat consuming country in the world to see what unhealthy looks like.
Thanks for your additional comments, very informative. I guess I'm going to die. I didn't know that, I assumed all veggies and vegans lived for ever.
I work for one, and he always has a cold, also puts the heating on all day , even when hes not there
Some people just look pale, its their complexion, nothing to do with what they eat! Im a veggie and dont eat a great deal of dairy either but I look a lot healthier than some meat eaters, so its just your opinion.
Good morning dipshit. I am a 190lb weightlifting vegan, with over a decade of martial arts training behind me. Should you wish to test your flesh scoffing strength against mine, I should be happy to kick your flabby backside from here to the edge of reason, where you may inadvertently find a modicum of sense.
I simply cannot be bothered with trying to reason with gimboids like you any more - it is much quicker and much more satisfying to just pummel you into an ugly mess on the floor.
you can be a vegan and be healthy but you have to incorperate food into your diet that have iron and other mineral and vitamins. like 12 grain bread. apricots have iron and potassium etc. you have to really read the labels. Legumes and beans are good also. and soy for protein. They look pale and sickly if they dont eat the right combinations and so many people dont bother to learn how to be a vegan properly. Fruits vegtables grains and protien and you will be just fine. some are lacto also which is better it adds dairy to the diet also.
To say all is incredibly generalistic, i've been vegan now for a year and half and I am lot healthier and (ie not pale and sickly) than nearly all of my meat eating friends. As long as your diet is sensible then you are acheiveing nearly all the required nutrients. I also take no supplements as they are over priced and under rated.I appreciate that as humans we are supposed to eat meat etc but I cant personally justify it anymore after having studied for many years about modern farming techniques etc. and the way in which animals are kept.
So it is possble to be healthy and a vegan, i appreciate there arent that many of us!! But please give us a break u may think its silly and making us ill but that is purely opinion in the end at least we are acting on something we feel strongly for. This is something very few people do these days so surely we deserve a little bit of respect based on the fact we are standing up for something we believe in!!
Vegan is a very difficult diet to get right. If done properly, it is perfectly healthy, but people don't always manage it. But meat is NOT the only thing that can help a poorly vegan- they can sort out their diet w/o animal products too.
What people need to realise is that often veganism is not necessarily a choice made for health reasons- maybe they'd rather have a little malnutrition from time to time than be supporting factory farming and slaughter houses. As a vegetarian, if I had health issues and my doctor suggested I eat meat again I still wouldn't- it's not about whether I'm technically designed to eat meat or not, it's about choosing not to because of the way the industry goes about producing it. So all the "it's natural and healthy" arguments mean nothing to me.
In any case, a lot of carnivores are overweight, have diabetes, high blood pressure, colon problems and a hell of a lot of other health problems of their own! So really, what's the difference?
P.S. Fox Hunter Guy- it's been proven time and time again that no one ever died from not eating meat. I stopped 15 years ago and am healthy as can be!
They aren't. Why are meat eaters florid faced and bloated?
I am not a vegetarian though I do eat meals without meat in them sometimes. I look very pale and sickly but thats just my colouring, fake tan comes in very handy at times. I can see why people turn vegan but what other uses do some animals have and if everyone is hear for a reason surely cows, lambs, pigs and chickens are here to feed us? Fair enough you can milk cows, get eggs of chickens and wool off sheep but what use is a pig?
Firstly, you can not ever apply any statement like a blanket over all people whatever their lifestyle choices are.
Secondly, it is a total fallacy that we need meat to survive. In fact the founder of the Vegan Society and inventor of the word vegan only died earlier this year at the age of 95, doesn't sound like you die if you don't eat meat now does it?
Thirdly I am a vegan and look healthy, fit and not pale at all. I do not take any supplements and get all the nutrients, protein and iron from my diet. I am a regular blood donor and my iron test always comes through as perfect, in fact I've seen plenty of meat eaters with anaemia.
The only reason you keep posting provocative questions like this is that you're desperate to hang onto the mythology and bad education you've been brought up with. If you let go of your prejudice for just one moment, you might find out how healthy, intelligent and strong vegans are.
Why do all meat eaters have 'issues' with people who choose not to eat meat? Seems to me that it's they who have the problems, not us!
i am a vegan and i'm not pale or sickly looking at all, i'm very healthy and so is my veggie daughter whereas my sister who is a meat eater is anaemic and she always looks very pale, i think your question is stupid and you are very naive when it comes to veganism.
They're no more pale and sickly looking than some meat eaters. Are you actually trying to be offensive or is it unintentional?
stress. the desire to eat meat and not eating meating is a serious bummer. you would be upset too if everyone was eating delicious meaty products and you couldn't because of your morals
Why do morons keep asking this question? For goodness sake, do you know "all vegans"? I'm thinking not.
As for malnutrition, that's complete nonsense. Have you any notion of how many accomplished amatuer and professional athletes are vegan? Including Carl Lewis, nine time Olympic track and field god medalist, tennis champ Martina Navratilova, and Ruth Heidrich, six time Ironman triathlete. If you think *you* can complete an Ironman triathlon whilst suffering from malnutrition, have at it.
If you look at the vegan societys 'typical vegan' web pages, you will see that your views are very stereotypical and misinformed.
