Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days, anyone help us?
Kitty said: Yes.Why do people always get vegetarian and vegan mixed up?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Why do people always get vegetarian and vegan mixed up?),it will help you,my kids.
I was at school and my friend kept telling me why i cant be a vegan. vegetarians can eat cheese, vegans cant. people on here tell me im not a vegan when i never said i was. I actually reseached it on google, and i found i was right. vegans dont use any animal byproducts. while vegitarians do.
Answer:
Unless it personally effects them, I don't think anyone really cares to research the difference between vegetarian and vegan. That is true though. People do confuse the two. And there is a huge difference. I'm vegetarian, and my BF is a vegan. I gotta have my cheese!
Because of lack of knowledge. Most people haven't even heard of a vegan - it drives me crazy!
People get them mixed up because those who aren't either are not knowledgeable on the topic. Like myself.
If you had to research it, then that should tell you why people get it so confused. They're two very similar eating styles, but one is more strict than the other. It makes total sense that people would confuse them.
I didn't know there was a difference.
because people are ignorant and don't take the time to do a google search as you have. most assume that because the names are similar it must be the same thing.
because to us that like a nice bloody steak
ITS THE SAME THING
YOU DONT EAT MEAT
everything else is excuses...and BS VEgan Vegitarian
Rabbit food eaters both and the same who cares what they dont eat THEY DONT EAT MEAT but turthfully folks
hang on a sec while I see if I truly care or not...hang on..
I've been a vegetarian all my life and have never felt deprived. I know all the restaurants that will accommodate me and what I can do to alter the things on the menu that are not vegetarian. I do NOT eat salads for every meal. I love food. I certainly don't starve, and I can eat out almost anywhere. (The obvious exception being a steak house, though I did go to one once with a group... I managed to find an appetizer I could eat)
Expect it to be different. Accept it as different. It will not be the same as an omnivorous lifestyle, but it can be just as great a life.
WHO CARES???
Jaylee is absolutely right. I did no realize the difference myself. Thanks for the information.
It has to do with the "vega" part
there both veg heads
most people are not vegetarians nor are they vegans...people have a philosophy they live by, why learn of other options and other peoples ways if it's not effecting them? It's just ignorance you'll find it everywhere even if your not looking..learn to deal.
I don't know why they can't get it straight. I think it is because people don't think about cheese=milk... milk= cow.... cow= animal.
This is a very meaty question.
Because Vegan is the root of Vegitarian
I'm a semi vegetarian, and I get it mixed up ~
well there are too many to keep track of
ovo
lacto
duhduh
blahblah
you know what i mean, who cares anyway?
it's what you put in your body, tell 'em quit worrying about your diet, as long as your not anorexic or something.
veggies just dont eat meat when vegan cant eat anything that is from animal. veggies think there is nothing wrong with eat cheese or drinking milk or eating eggs because it doesnt kill the animal.vegan think it is wonge to take anything from an animal
and i am a veggie
To those of us who are not one, vegan just sounds like a really stupid, made-up word. Vegetarian SHOULD be just what the name implies, and that would be you vegans. Why don't you make all the ovo-lactos, and whatever otehr variations there are, make up THEIR own word, and keep vegetarian for people who don't eat anything else?
because it sounds the same!
they basically mean the same thing I mean who really cares I say EAT MEAT GRRRRR
Some people don't know what the difference is between a vegan and Vegetarian. I didn't know either before I learned in my Culinary class. There is actually different types of vegans too.
Vegan- eat only fruits and vegis.
Lacto Vegan- eat fruits and vegis, and also dairy products.
Ovo Vegan- eat fruits and vegis, and also eggs
Lacto Ovo Vegan- eat fruits and vegis, and also dairy products and eggs
There is only one level of vegetarian we either are or we aint.A true vegetarian eats only that which grows in vegetation. Therefore milk cheese and eggs can not be vegetarian.. The word vegan has just become a popular word about 10 years ago to divide those who gave up eating cheese and dairy from those who think themselves to be vegetarian.l've been a true vegetarian since 1987 19 years l eat only that which grows in vegetation.l've never called myself vegan but in todays terms l guess they could call that.
You are correct in yoru definitions. What was the question?
doesnt matter idiots, why do you think we have incisors? one day the earth is gonna be reaking havoc and weak vegans or vegetarians wont be strong enough to survive
who cares what the difference is, you are all nuts
They just don't know.
Most American people eat meat, fish and dairy.
Some people think vegetarian means only eating chicken and fish of course this is not true.
It is true that vegan means on dairy or eggs at all and a regular vegetarian can eat these things.
People who are close to vegetarian and vegetarian generally are more healthy because they don't get the fat in meat, fish and poultry in their diet.
Best wishes
u go girl
they aren't educated on the types of vegetarians that exist. their education consists of the different animals and the meat products that are produced by them.
IT DRIVES ME NUTS IT IS GETTING WAY AANOYING!
