Kitty said: Yes.Why do the meat eaters go onto the vegetarian section and critisise the vegetari-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Why do the meat eaters go onto the vegetarian section and critisise the vegetari),it will help you,my kids.
Are they feeling guilty about eating all those dead animals?
Answer:
I don't knw why they are hateful and rude to us just because of the food we choose to eat. I personally don't push my views>------------------------------...
Actually, after reading your question (and answering it) I went into the V&V section to see if what you said was true or just an overreaction. It turns out that some 'meat eaters' do seem to add negative comment to this section almost exclusively. Almost every answer if fact. What strange people!
Cos they think that vegetarians X enjoy food but only veges which is a wastage 2 them cos meat is delicious in their point of view.
I really can't get my head around it. They may not see a problem with eating meat, but that would surely be a neutral subject for them, not something they feel strongly "pro" about, and want to change people's minds about. Whereas veggies are actually trying to influence something for moral reasons. So all this saying "we all think differently and need to tolerate each others views" doesn't seem to fit the situation here because they don't actually have a "view"- no one is actually in favour of killing animals for moral or intellectual reasons, they just aren't against it. It's NOT the same.
What it boils down to is this- People like to think that everything they do is right. When someone comes along who lives a bit differently, it makes them feel judged. Even if no thought process has gone into their decisions, they will argue with them simply because they see them as opposition.
Also, we are so far removed from the processes that bring us our food, clothes, etc, people don't feel responsible for anything but the fact that they walked into Tesco's and paid for it- some people are genuinely convinced that so long as it's not illegal, and is available through legitimate channels, we have no right to bring morality into it.
I think it just annoys people to have to think about it at all. Often when people find out I'm veggie they jump straight in with some sort of "Oh i would be veggie but I have low iron" or "Oh right (awkward laugh) I love meat too much to be vegetarian, I don't know how you do it" as if I had asked them why they are not.
But I still don't see how that annoyance would lead them to go out of their way to insult us! Seems bizarre. What losers.
EDIT- Donald W, what you say is completely fair enough. But it's really not a matter of "taste" with most vegetarians, it's a moral consideration- none of us would be so wound up if it was just about what we do or do not enjoy eating.
EDIT- Col, "critcise" is the British spelling for "criticize". It's not incorrectly spelt, in fact I think you'll find that it's the original English spelling. As for what you say about vegans, well sorry, but seeing as you live in America it's no surprise that you encounter a load of zealous religious types- there's plenty of those there, vegan or otherwise.
Princess, the real loser here is you. You constantly come into the V&V section to force your lifestyle on others. I, for one, am sick and tired of reading you long pathetic replies.
The fact is this. Vegans are vegan just so they can belong to a cult group and feel important. Vegans don't care about animals, they never have and I doubt they ever will.
Yes..they feel like they have to belittle us because of their own insecurities. It's sort of like the old saying "Misery loves company". Do you know what people say about bullying right? The bully is a bully because he is unhappy with himself. It's the same for the bullies here.
I don't see why this (your question) would bother Mr. Foxhunter though..this is the Vegetarian and Vegan section. He has no business being if he has no real questions.
Easiest to wind up.
Although I enjoy meat I recognize that everyone has the right to make their own choices.
Oddly, most of the vegans and vegetarians I have come in contact with (and, remember, I said that I have contact with) are such zealots that they become tiresome and boring extolling their chosen regimen. I occasionally go to a vegetarian restaurant for the salads, etc., but find the smell of vegetarian meat substitutes (the tofu burger, for example) to be really unpleasant.
People should learn to tolerate different peoples' tastes.
Maybe you Vegans don't go into other Food and Drink sections to criticize (spell it correctly please) but many of you go into the hunting section to spout of your opinions. So, why do you complain? As someone else stated the only vegans I have encountered are a bunch of zealots, religious zealots in my case, and I can't stand it, always trying to convert. I don't try to get them to eat meat, so stop trying to get me to eat your fake meat. Have you ever read the labels on that stuff?
I was on this site looking for recipes for those vegan's who are unfortunately related.
So, Princess is it CritiSise or CritiCise over there in the land of "proper" English? Believe me I had plenty of words for you but your not worth the effort.
Yes.
Because they are childish and stupid. I don't care who eats meat and who doesn't, but having to harass people beause they are peaceful and caring is just plain mean, stupid, and immature. I've drank wines more mature than these people.
Perhaps there are no meat eaters on here over the age of 12? Perhaps it's easier to pick on peaceful people rather than tackle real issues like childhood obesity? Either way, some people just get off at hiding behind a computer screen and stirring up trouble. Makes them feel more like a good American - you know, pick on others and be a bully.
Because they have nothing better to do but heckle.
Of course you're not any better with your, "... cuz they feel guilty about eating all those dead animals?" part. They judge but don't forget, so do you.
they shouldnt but use attitude if they do
It's not all of them, just the troublemakers.
You're right though - it's always been my theory that the dead-flesh-eaters are more vociferous about our diet because they feel guilty about their own.
And as for those who continually bombard V&V with their inflammatory questions, based on made-up "science" and "medical journals", well the less said about them the better!
I don't know, but I'm sure the same motive compels the non-religious people who go into the Religion category and bash Christians.
A pain, isn't it?
No i just like to listen to what people have to say about their eating habits and learn new things so i am well informed. Also i enjoy answering idiotic questions like " When will there be an emancipation proclamation for the animals."
I asked the same question this week! I dont mind the ones that are polite but the rude ones are just a bunch of stupid f.u.c.k.s. that have their brains rotted out by madcow! They arent smart enough to know how to feel guilty!
some feel uncomfortable that vegetarians are bring into question their morality, and playing a gamew of im holier than thou [which some vegetarians do]
its the same as atheists being around religious zealots.
they do it to make them self feel better. or, they are just bullies.
People just love to moan and complain about others, obviously they have nothing better to do.
