Would we be healthier?

Answers:
Reasons to be vegetarian, from most important to least important:

1. So as not to support the shameful slaughter of animals for food.
2. So as not to support the cruel raising of animals in horrific conditions.
3. Because we will be healthier, generally speaking, without meat in our diets (less cholesterol, less saturated fat, less accumulation of toxins, metals and antibiotics ...)
4. Because we will be healtheir, generally speaking with more variety, vitamins, fibre, minerals, and so on, which come from vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains, etc.

Yes, you'll be healthier. If you are very active, you may need to plan your diet to get enough iron, protein and calories, but you'll still be healthier.

Other Answers:
because it would be more meat for me
None of that "we" stuff - I love steak, but do work out.

Some people are healthier if they turn vegetarian because there is less fat in any meatless diet. Less cholesterol and less calories too.
It all depends. I was an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 15 years. That means I ate eggs and dairy but no animals. I didn't lose weight at all. I went back to eating meat because I missed the flavor so much.

I read a book called "Diet For A New America" in the 80s. It said something to the effect that it takes so much more field space to grow the grain to feed the cows than it does to grow the rice to feed the people.
no not really because we need meat i don't think being a vegetarian is a good idea.we would at one point be healthier but again at one point we would die at an bad age because we won't have any meat in our body.
i don't know I actually went on a meat strike so my family nicknamed it. I told my family that I didn't eat anything with a face but I don't think i was strong enough to keep up the not eating meat thing because I ended up eating a burger and feel bad for that animal
you don't qualify.
you dont have to if you dont want to, you should if you are a animal luver, no not dogs or cats, but like cows and pigs, but dont metion it, pigs loook nasty when your about to eat ot and you can see its head, yuck
Vegetarian is always healthy, however, you need to know what to eat to get all the vitamins your body needs.
I totally support for vegetarian because It terrified me to watch those animal- slaughtering tapes. It was sooo cruel. Besides the cruelty, it's not even that safe for us if we consume too much.

These are some of the health benefits of vegetarian :
vegetarians suffer less heart disease, hypertension, obesity, diabetes, various cancers, diverticular disease, bowel disorders, gall stones, kidney stones, and osteoporosis. Vegetarian diets have also been used in the treatment of various illnesses, including rheumatoid arthritis and nephrotic syndrome

Why? We would stop mass producing animals for us to eat. (like giving chickens and turkeys drugs that make them grow so fast their bones cant catch up so eventually then collaspe under their own weight and die or get trampled by other chickens, and we still eat them)

Thats the main reason I do it. Sure its healthy but I do it for our friends. I wouldn't eat my dog and I wouldn't eat a pig. It's all about morals for me.

You shouldn't, as omnivores eating meat is both natural and essential to our bodies.

That's not to say you shouldn't eat a wide variety of vegetables, but meat is important too.

Many of the proteins, minerals and fats we nee to keep a balanced and healthy diet cannot be found anywhere else at all apart from meat. Some can be got from supplements, but your body is better adapted to get those things from meat than tablets. Without those proteins you might find you aren't as able to heal as you could before, but it is the effect on children than can be particularly disastrous.

Yes, we do need fat in our diet, if you want to stay thin and healthy do more exercise, don't cut all the fat out of your diet.
As opposed to the common belief the cholesterol
saturated fat theory is a dead one. It is a complete
and utter lie.

And if it is true, then why do ALL of our ancestors
whom we decended from eat WAAY more cholestorol
and Fat than we do and yet have LESS heart disease
and cancer.

In Weston A Prices book Nutritionand Physical Degeneration
he discovers all primitive diets contained between
35%-80% calories from Fat sources. These ppeople
some of whom are our direct ancestors thrived
on excellent health. No heart disease no cancer
wonderful health and longevity.

I will say this, we consum more hydrogenated
and man made fat and oils than anyone
in the entire world, When the main peak
in heart disease occured Trans fat went up
animal fat went down. Better living through
science? I dont think so.

Trans Fats clog arteries not animal fat.
In fact people with normal cholesterol die
just as often of heart attacks as those with
high cholesterol.

most of the fat found in arteries is Polyunsaturated
about 60%. 35% is usually Saturated and another
5% is usually mono.

I recommend Weston Prices: Nutrition and
Physical Degeneration
And Sally Fallons : Nourishing Traditions

Also we have Essential Amino Acids we must
consume, coenzmeQ10, and B complex
amoung other enzymes we get from animal
sources, cutting out these nutrients makes
for a malnourished individual.

But if you must, at least consume eggs
and Raw dairy. Then you should be fine.

Good luck
