Answers:
no not when properly balanced with beans, legums, nuts
Other Answers:
Not if you attain sufficient vitamin intake and eat adequte proteins.
I kind of hope so. But that's me and my issues.
But so far it's a no.
I will need to check on that on a dictionary!!! what is emaciation?
I eat a lot of raw fish and medium-rear red meat and never have been sick of that... so I guess not.
i would think that your body needs lots of different vitamins and minerals that raw foods cannot provide. Wheat for example.
check with a nutritionist.
A raw food diet makes healthy living very difficult. For simple calorie needs, meats and dairy have more concentrations of calories, and such foods need to be either cooked or stored to be healthy.
It also makes it difficult to get enough protein, as several good sources of vegetarian protein (lentils, beans and other legumes, combined with grains like rice, oats, etc.) are not digestible unless they are cooked.
Finally, humans have cooked food for thousands of years for a reason. Cooked food is healthier, more free of bugs, parasites, and disease, and is easier to chew, and easier to digest.
I find the idea of a raw food diet strange. It's like saying "I refuse to use any machine that was built after 1900!" So I ride a horse to work, remove the telephone, computer, stapler. Why deny those things that have added health and wealth to our lives? You don't need to be so drastic to be healthy.
How long were you going to diet? I would say that you could probably go a very long time. As long as you stick with meats that CAN be eaten raw. Peanuts, soybeans, Salmon for sushi is a good choice too. Tuna in a can OK. Crab and salmon in a can ok too. These have been processed so you can eat them without worry about cooking. But yes, raw foods are a great source of fiber and retain the vitamins and minerals that cooking leaches out! Go for it! Just be sure you chew the veggies and everything really well. It is difficult for your digestive system to break down large pieces of food that you haven't chewed enough. Chew, and enjoy. Its a great way to loose pounds and still get all the vitamins you need if you eat healthily. Crust breads and rolls work really well with raw foods, help break down the fiber in your stomach. Here in America we eat WAY too fast. You need to chew and enjoy each bit, take your time, savor every portion and taste the bell peppers, did you know that a green bell pepper turns into a red bell pepper if left on the vine longer, and the red bell pepper turns yellow (oh and howmuch sweeter it is too) when it is left on the vine even longer. That is the reason yellow bell peppers cost SO much more than green ones! But if you chop the green bell pepper into bite size pieces and cut up a yellow one, TASTE the difference? Savor it! For a bit of protein mix a tad bit of mayo to a can of tuna fish with a half teasponn sweet pickle relish, a little chopped red onion, and put a small mound on the plate with peppers surrounding it. Add some cross-ways carrot pieces for color and there you have it! Now a little real butter on a crispy roll!? I'll be over around 7pm and I'll bring the white wine, and chocolate for desert! ENJOY!

eating your fruits and veggies raw is very healthy and nutritious ,as long as you wash them, but your body does need some protein, and even a little fat, to stay healthy. any good plan can be taken to extremes...that is why dieticians keep harping on "balanced diet"...
Eating a balanced diet will never cause emaciation or problems of any kind. The idea of a raw diet is that the food you eat contains many of the substances (Enzymes) that our bodies need to digest them, but when they are cooked the enzymes are killed of leaving our bodies to provide more of the nutrients ourselves. There are studies that say that by age 50 we have reduced by half the number of enzymes that our body can produce and we no longer efficiently digest our food. In extereme circumstances we rely on our immune systems to digest food for us.
