However, the best way to lose weight effectively and not having it come back is to be patient! Crash diets are only temporary solutions. You should aim at loosing about 2pounds/1kg per week, no more. Change your diet progressively, to build up good habits. Don't deny yourself all the things you like, but be moderate and reasonable about it (i.e don't eat a full chocolate bar, but just a little piece of chocolate) that way you avoid frustrations.

Drink loads of water, people often carry excess weight because they a eating foods which act as directics [the food contains either too much salt or caffeine, this will make you retain water]. Flush out these directics and you will loose a few pounds without needing to reduce your food intake.
Generally a well balanced diet is what you should be aiming for.

It is proven that more smaller meals during the day, help speed up your metabolism. So, make sure you have a good breakfast, something healthy like granola and yogurt. Then have a snack before lunch, like a banana. For lunch have a whole wheat bun and some salad. Then have another snack in the afternoon, like some juice, or fruit leather, or some carrots and celery. For supper, make sure you have protein. Beans, tofu or lean meat is the best. If you eat healthier smaller portions throughout the day, and exercise. You will lose weight, and be healthy!!
DON'T JUST EAT HEALTHILY!!! Eating healthily only, doesn't help. You need to eat LESS. My mum has learnt the hard way, don't overdue it though. Remember, you still have to eat to live!

Ensure you eat nutritious food and healthy drinks for maintaining your figure. You may also do exercises, wherever possible walk, don't take bus or taxi. Keep your mind always cool.
