Answers:
I personally don't eat "land animals", but I do eat seafood. For me I am more against the processing and hormones that are given to our meat supply. It is horrifying all the ins and outs of that. Truly. My preference is organic. That allows me to cut out as many of those chemicals as I can.

I subsequently haven't had any "land animals" in over 2 years now. I believe the term for the aquatic eaters is peskatarian. Please excuse the spelling for I am sure that it is not correct.

Other Answers:
some do, some don't.

I always want to ask that kind of vegetarian (the kind who feels bad for eating a living thing) how they know that plants don't have feelings

I was a strict vegetarian for a long time (over 10 years) but I had medical problems from chronic lack of protein, because I just don't like beans very much! To be a healthy veggie, you have to eat beans/lentils/tofu about three times a day.

So, I have been eating fish for health reasons. I still think like a veggie, tho - I think, hmmmm, what delicious corpse this is. it's a bit of a mental gymnastics to balance my sense of the creature that gave its life and my ability to get it down!

There are "vegetarians" who eat hamburgers, not everyone is serious about it. Those who are serious don't eat fish. Most Vegetarians are in denial anyway they all love the smell of bacon!

I'm a vegetarian, if you eat fish you are not a vegetarian...hence the word vegetarian, you are suppose to have an all vegi-diet, no meat of any source...duh...so i agree it is cruel to eat living creatures including fish, that why most people become vegetarians or vegan.

Because they are hypocrites- same reason they wear leather.

Although, for the record, I am an absolute carnivore. Beef, chicken, pork, fish-
anything that once had a heartbeat
is the best food to eat!

vegetarians eat fish? Because they dont realize that the "muscle" of the fish, is still protein!

They know about the muscle of animals, being meat, but they are confused when it comes to fish...

I wish you well..

Jesse

I don't eat fish. A lot of vegatarian become so cuz they don't want to eat what's cute, warm & fuzzy !!! Fish ain't any of those things..so it's O.K.

Vegetarians do not eat fish , neither egg.

Those who do eat these know it too.

Jews are not supposed top eat pork and Muslims are not supposed to drink Alchohal. But some of them do it.

Its about personal choice.

People abstain as much as they can and as suits them.

Maybe it's the term that's confusing you. Vegetarian people don't eat animal flesh. It was put to me in this way: anything with a face on it. Vegans are people that eat NO-THING that COMES from an animal, which includes eggs, butter, milk, and honey.

If a vegetarian eats fish, then technically they really aren't a vegetarian. Same goes for people who eat chicken. A few years ago a NEW term (to confuse things more, I think!) came online...FLEXITARIAN. These are people that have cut out red meat and pork, will still eat fish, chicken, eggs, and dairy. These are people who are more health conscious than they are political. Vegetarianism tends (tends now, not IS exclusively) to be political minded people who are not into animal cruelty more than health minded folks. Many vegetarians eat that way for religious reasons...many, but not all. Religion and politics go hand in hand in this case.

Ultimately, we all eat to our own conscious. When I do eat meat, I try to only eat meat raised ethically and humanely. Or I don't eat it. I don't understand why people are so afraid that a vegetarian is a threat to their meat-eating lifestyle. I've lived with vegetarians my entire life, both religious/political Vegans and health-minded Vegetarians and I have never felt the need to enforce my meat eating habits on them.

ask them because some people think that fish isn't a kind of meat. Wierd.
