They're just gullible. They think that every and any way an animal is killed for food is cruel. Oh well, more for us =]
Cultural beliefs, personal beliefs, religious beliefs, and so on and so forth. cuz they find meat gross, they feel like they eating the living animal with blood and flesh, in short they stupid
because they think it's wrong to kill animals but then again... why did god put animals on this earth? to eat duh! i don't see why they dont just eat the shi.t and be happy, i totally agree with you.
People like me are vegan because I beleive that I can eat without killing an animal, so why do so. Animals are animals, I wouldn't eat my dog, so I'm not going to eat a pig.
You can get protein, iron and calcium from things other than meat (even though meats are the traditional way to get them) Soy beans, peanuts and any other beans have tons of delicious protein. Iron you can get from brocili and other greens. Calcium is great from delicius soy milk.
Some people are like "because theyre stupid more meat for us" and I dont care what they think. Being a vegan is for me, and its what i beleive part of being a good person is to have morals and this is just one of them.
People are vegetarians for a wide variety of reasons. Some people love animals so much they cannot imagine ever harming or killing an animal, even as a source of food.
Some people believe the way many animals are slaughtered is inhumane and refuses to eat any kind of meat for that reason.
Others believe that good sources of protein are available elsewhere in nature, so consuming meat is unnecessary.
I had a friend who was a vegetarian because it takes discipline to find other sources of protein and to not eat meat or other animal products. I had another friend who simply does not like the texture of meat, and so she also won't eat things like patties made of mushrooms because they have a meat-like texture.
Some are worried about preservatives, antibiotics, or other medications or unnatural things that are given to animals before they are slaughtered or are added to the meat later.
Others are vegetarians for religious reasons. Some cultures revere certain animals and think of them as holy. Others think that all life is so special that even killing pests is wrong, so they will not kill animals for food.
There are almost as many reasons for being vegetarian as there are vegetarians. I hope some feel comfortable enough to share their personal stories with you, and I wish you a better understanding of this lifestyle that people from all walks of life choose.
I am a vegetarian because I have serious problems with the American meat industry. Because they flunked 8th grade science. Remember when we looked at plants and stuff under the microscope? If you look at a fresh slide one of a plant and one with a meat product you will see live cells on both slides.
Vegans don't place value on ALL life. They have no problem eating something that was alive, but lacked the ability to scream, run, bleed blood that looks like our own, or look cute and fuzzy.
Me, I've accepted the fact that I am an omnivore. I, just like all other humans, require vegetables, fruit, grains, legumes, AND meat in order to maintain a healthy body.

The facts, just the facts.
I am vegan out of necessity (food allergies) and by choice (love animals, don't want them dying for my plate).
I get my protein from other sources. I don't need to clog up my arteries with animal protein. I won't criticize anyone who chooses to eat meat. But it's not for me.
Because we are very, very smart and get protein elsewhere. Because they have been deceived by those hippy pseudo-scientists running around that it is healthier than eating meat.
It is quite the opposite.
You can get protein from plants, but not nearly all the types proteins we need to stay healthy.
For cultural reasons,, but scientists have discovered also that beef meat has too many toxins. and the best think to do is eat chicken and fish, for the proteins. I'm vegetarian because I believe that animals are slaughtered, unnecessarily and unhumanely for the so-called benefit of the human population. The American, meat-industry is horrid to say that least, and I cannot believe I spent almost 19 years of my life eating meat.
Being a vegetarian is better for the environment and it is hundreds of times healthier than a meat-based diet! I'm proud to be a vegetarian, and I couldn't be any other way!!!
i am a vegetarian 4 a few reasons:
1) i was born a vegetarian and i havent eaten meat once in my life
2) i think eating animals is wrong- how would u like it if someone ate u bc u "have good protein?"
3) if i ate meat now i would get sick

People are vegetarians for many reasons, including concern for personal health and the environment, economic and world hunger concerns, compassion for animals, belief in nonviolence, food preferences, or spiritual reasons. People may become vegetarians for one reason, and then later on adopt some of the other reasons as well.

I am a Hasidic Jew and also vegetarian because I believe that the modern meat industry goes entirely against the laws and spirit of keeping kosher. Judaism permits eating meat, but also forbids causing suffering to the animals. In the past, kosher meat was raised and slaughtered more humanely, but this is no longer the case. Today's kosher meat comes from the same cruel factory farms as non-kosher meat, the only difference being in the moment of slaughter. Even PETA acknowledges that kosher slaughter -- if done properly-- is humane. But what about how the animal was raised? If you could walk through a commercial chicken farm (as I have) and see how the chickens are treated, you would soon lose your appetite for chicken soup. (Unless, heaven forbid, you are a sadist who enjoys watching things suffer.)
