I was wondering because there are several websites that sell it & I was hoping that someone has tried it & would recommend a brand. I want a great experience, but I want someone elses opinion before spending a pretty penny for it.

Answers:
I can't remember the brands I had, but I have drank it on two different occasions in Germany. What I can suggest is that you go to a bar that serves it. Here's why - the right way to drink it involves igniting a spoonful of sugar and pouring that into the glass of absinthe. Its kind of a hassle to try and do that if you're not experienced at it.
As far as all the talk about it being hallucinogenic, the two times I tried it, I didn't feel anything. In fact, if you start to get drunk off it, you have had too much. My best friend, who I was with both times when we tried it, he said it made him feel a little spacey, but he did not hallucinate.

Other Answers:
My brother has tried it. I'm not sure what the name of it was but it was a rounded bottle with a round green sticker for a label.

Oh no! I would stay away from the stuff if I were you! I have never tried it myself, but from what I have read it is not pretty. There was someone famous (an artist of some sort) that used to paint or do something while he was intoxicated from it (kind of like dropping acid like Van Gogh--I think did). No not really this is the first time I have heard of it
