I tried a beer the other day that was an import from Belgium. It had 11% Alcohol, thinking that it would taste bad, it tasted great! I am wondering what are some other good STRONG beers out there I could try?

Answers:
Here are some strong Belgian beers I can recommend:
Westmalle Dubbel (7%)
Witkap Dubbele Pater (7 %)
Corsendonck Agnus (7,5 %)
Corsendonck Pater (7,5 %)
Witkap Tripel (7,5 %)
Westvleteren 8 (8%)
Tripel Karmeliet (8 %)
St. Bernardus Tripel (8 %)
Maredsous (brown) (8%)
Leffe Radieuse (8,2 %)
Leffe Tripel (8,5 %)
Duvel (8,5 %)
Judas (8,5 %)
Verboden Vrucht / Fruit défendu (8,8 %)
Westmalle Tripel (9 %)
Delirium Tremens (9 %)
Chimay Blue (9 %)
Rochefort 8 (9,2 %)
Grimbergen Optimo Bruno (10 %)
St. Bernardus Abt 12 (10%)
Maredsous Tripel (10 %)
Westvleteren 12 (10 %)
Kasteelbier Triple (11 %)
Kasteelbier (brown) (11 %)
Rochefort 10 (11,3 %)

A very special Belgian beer I like very much is Gueuze. This type of beer isn't so strong (only 5-6 %) There are a few breweries who make this beer, the only one I wouldn't recommend is Belle-vue. They waisted the original taste by adding sugar.
There is also Kriek, a traditional Belgian beer made of Gueuze with added black cherries. Again, don't take Belle-vue, it's too sweet.

I'm not sure how many of these beers you'll be able to find in the US though.

Other Answers:
I heard that most American breweries milk Gnats for their alcohol.

On average, english beer is about 6%abv.

Real Ale, brewed in wooden caskets is slightly stronger.

It depends what kind of beer you like, I like Pilsner lager and can get hold of Becks pretty much anywhere - its no good suggesting you try something if its really difficult to get! Stick to Belgium beers, they have quality control unmatched by anywhere else. I like "Forbiden Fruit" made by the same people who make Hoegaarden.

Or try "Delirium Tremons", they're not too hard to find in English supermarkets. Americans can't make beer. Fact.

Try European beers, mostly lager but the Belgians make some brown beer well worth tracking down, they produce it under the name of Trappist.
British beer has the greatest variety, mild, bitter, brown etc.

Hope this helps. Look for British beer. It's got good flavour and it's strong. Try Spitfire Kentish Ale, (5-6%) my favourite!

The stronger beers come from the UK or Germany, both great drinking nations.

Try some Warsteiner (nicknamed Wobbly, as after a few of these, you will be!) Can't remember the %, 6-7, I think. Tip: in England and the US, extra strong beers are often called Barley Wines and sold as such.

In the US, look for bars/pubs that serve microbrewery beers - there aren't that many that aren't under the corporate lash, so cherish any you find.

Quick Google turned up a US brewery called Rogue: does an extra strength Imperial IPA (a respectable 9.5%) and Old Crustacean Barley Wine (an almost challenging 11.5%).

Worth flinging them an email to see if they've got any distributors / pubs near you.
