I have a new keg, but i no idea how to open the keg to clean it out or how to put beer in it. Somebody please help me with these problems.
Answers:
You DON'T open a keg.
The beer in the keg is under pressure. Open it, and you release all the pressure at one time. Needless to say, most of the beer will then be all over you, not to mention whatever room you are in.
If the keg is empty, take it back to the store and buy another.

you need to get a tap...like a unit that lets the beer out.
um...well if u got a keg w/ a sankey tap system(the average kegs u see at partys from major brewerys) to put it bluntly ur kinda f**ked they need a keg cleaning machine which cost a few grand. and u cant clean them by hand cause their sealed so u cant get to the insides.
if there the old style kegs, i think there called hoffman stevens something... anyway those have a plastic insert in the side which u need to remove to clean it and the then buy a new 1 when u refill it to seal it again. as far as detailed explanation u gonna have to find somebody who works w/ them or has worked w/ them

Didn't you ask at the place where you got the keg?Unless your making your own beer you just return it as is for a full one. They will clean the old one so not to worry about it. If you are making your own call a local micro brewery and ask them. Hey Billy,
Those commercial kegs are NOT MEANT TO BE OPENED!
Even if the keg seems empty, there is still allot of gas left in the keg. If you will look at the keg, there is only one way to get into it and that is from the top. Budweiser and other breweries have a special tool that they use to remove the tap at the top.
I have bartended for many years. I wouldn't even want to try to get one open!
