This is for a contest. They will be judging it>strawberries,blueberries,pinea... and maybe appleslices.
Mix lemonjuice , powdered sugar and your choice of liquor, i would use either a fruitflavored or vanilla vodka, and soak your fruitmixture in it,preferably overnight, fill your basket with the fruitmix and garnish with sliced oranges, mint leaves and marachino cherries.

cut a hole in the top of the watermelon, then stick a bottle of your favorite alcohol in the hole and let it soak in, but be careful and don't use the gallon jug. less is more, you still want to be able to eat it without gagging. enjoy!
cantaloupe marries beautifully with port
honeydew with white vermouth
watermelon, due to its strong taste would overpower and clash with any flavored alcohol... i would use vodka with a touch of balsamic vinegar (or, instead of the vinegar, some midori, to enhance the melon taste)
...popular wisdom in my country -mexico- advises against mixing watermelon and alcohol due to the gastrointestinal distress the mixture invariably causes... beware!
