Fisherman's Friends cough drops. They cover up the smell of almost anything, clear up your chest and even manage to staop a cough or two. Look like turds, though. Much stronger than altoids.
Listerine breath strips can help a lot.

Listerine breath SPRAY--the citrus variety--smells and tastes good. Great for garlic and coffee breath, too!!
Well, how about not drinking when you're concerned you'll smell like booze? Ok, you can try everything from listerine to tomatoes to pineneedles....but nothing completely knocks out the smell of booze.
Stick to mixed vodka drinks rather than spirits that have a strong odor to them like gin or bourbon.
If you drink heavily, you'll still have a bit of an odor no matter what, but vodka can minimize this.
