which is better in a martini?

Answer:
gin is the original and has more taste. however vodka is more popular, because it has less taste therefore it is smoother.
tequila
Gin
Vodka all the way
vodka for sure and GREY GOOSE preferably but nit is like 35.00 to 50.00 dollars a bottle depending on size at any liquor store
Thank you
that is really personal choice. A classic martini calls for gin, however many modern martinis are vodka based. I prefer vodka personally.
Gin
Vodka (I dont' like gin)...make an Apple martini.
I myself prefer gin. You may not like it because gin has a "perfumy" smell. However my martinis are made with Bombay Gin, martini and Rossi dry vermouth and an olive. Some people like a twist of lemon but I pass on that. Shaken of course...not stirred. Best served chilled.
Have you ever had a martini? Be careful. Its like a Manhatten...all booze. Two is my limit and that's pushing it.
VODKA
Gin
Hendricks Gin.
I like both vodka (specifically Stolichnaya and Smirnoff) and gin (Bombay Sapphire)
GIN GIN GIN!!!
Martini is Gin.

The vodka is used for people that don't know what a real martini is... It's like putting training wheels on a bike so people aren't embarrassed when they ask for a vodka martini.

Vodka martini drinkers are probably the same type of people that buy expensive coffee but put a 1/4 cup of sugar in their coffee in the morning.
Drink Wine
I work in a restaurant and gin is more common but vodka has a smoother taste.
"Martini's", i dont know ! I am a Purist....
Vodka , i like "CHOPIN". It's Potato-Vodka, more smoother and tastier i think.
GIN. Tanqueray 10.
There is no such thing as a martini made with vodka. There is a martini, or there is vodka with vermouth in it.
I prefer a good vodka...Belveder is my personal fav!
gin
Both!!
I'm a vodka gal myself... preferrably Ketel One.
gin
I recommend gin, especially good gin. Lots of people like Bombay Sapphire, but I prefer Van Gogh. Try a couple with differing amounts of vermouth. Some people like it more dry than others, so just start drinking them and see what you like. I also prefer them to be stirred, not shaken.
