So I can open 100 bottles of soda until I find a winner?

Answer:
Hi Justin,

Many countries, including the UK and the USA have laws about gambling. The organisers of 'offers' or 'competitions' have to ensure that these legal requirements are met.

So, if a manufacturer offers '10,000 dollars to be 'won' by opening a drinks can' the law will require that the customer must get the same chance without having to 'pay' for the entry 'ticket' (the soda can, or whatever)

Offering a 'free' draw is legal, having to 'buy' a ticket is not...hence the 'no purchase necessary' legend. Often the procedure for 'having the chance to win' is difficult and may even cost you more than the price of the soda can, but the company has ensured it is operating under the law.

Whether any company could show that a person who had taken advantage of the 'no purchase necessary' rule had ever won a prize is doubtful.

The answer is 'No' you can't open 100 bottles of soda until you find a winner...the 'rules' will be printed on the bottle to demonstrate how you could enter...sorry!

Hope that helps,

BobSpain
If only, it means you can still enter a competition without having to purchase, something to do with the lottery laws in the UK.
NO, you can WRITE to the company, and request a game piece for free. Or it may cost you a "self addressed stamped envelope".
...Yeah ! ...be sure to tell that to the "cop" who books you for retail theft... Generally, it means there is an "application" form to fill out in place of sending in their "cap" etc. look around...
it means u dont have 2 buy anything 2 participate N da contest. usually u can enter a sweepstakes on that company's website
no answer necessary
