Hey all! I know it stands for Louis Vuitton Mo?t Hennessy. But what exactly is it? I did a google search on it and it say that it is the world's largest luxury goods company. My question is this......Is it a drink also? Can you mix Moet Champagne and Hennessy together and will taste good? I've drank Hennessy before, but never Moet or any champagne for that matter. Thing is, i will be celebrating my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend in February. And i want to have some champagne to celebrate our love, but then i wanted some liquor to get things hott! (If you know what i mean.) If i can have these 2 together that'll be great! So, is this a real mix? Is it good? What kind of Moet should i buy and what kind of Hennessy?
Thanks for any help or advice in advance :)
Answer:
There are recipes on line for Champagne and Cognac. I have never heard of them before, and they seem to be mostly "gandsta" lifestyle inspired cocktails. I don't know how good they will be.
The most promising is Champagne 1 oz. Cognac 1.5 oz Lemon juice .5 oz. and Simple syrup (water with equal amount of sugar dissolved by heating and then cooled) .5 oz. Most recipes just mix the Champagne and Cognac straight up or on ice. Adding too much flavor with totally bury the champagne which is why most champagne cocktails use light fruity flavors like orange juice (Mimosa), peach juice (Bellini), or a splash or Chambord Liqueur (Champagne Cocktail). You might experiment by adding cognac to one of them to taste. I wouldn't use ice either ... not with the champagne bubbles.
I would not get the most outrageous versions of these items if I were mixing them. I would get Moet White Star and Hennessy VSOP. I don't drink white star myself, it is what is called "extra dry" not the dryer "brut". It is very popular but still of good quality.
Personally I would skip the mixing thing and serve the Champagne to start the evening and finish the evening off with a snifter of Hennessy. I'm not sure what to do with the Louis Vuitton as they make luxury accessories and not usually anything to be consumed.
One year with a boyfriend is hardly an occasion for a classy champagne. Why not have a mass-produced American beer instead, like Budweiser? When you've been married for 50 years, then you can break out the Cristal...
Stick to the champagne if you want things to stir up but forget about the Cognac since the mix could end in a unwanted result, lol.
