I suggest a white riesling or a Canadian icewine. The icewine is a bit pricey, but it is delicious!
Also, Bonny Doon makes a great dessert wine. If you ask at the wine store, they can show you what they have in stock.

If you have a Harris Teeter grocery store, there is a really good wine the brand is Duplin, and the type of wine is scuppernong it is a type grape, really sweet. Cheap and yummy. Also, it is sold at Bloom aka Food Lion.
San Sabastian from St Augustine Fl., makes a Vintage Red, produced from the Muscadine grape. Very sweet in flavor.
White wine made from "red" grapes (Zinfandel, Merlot, Sarah/Shiraz). Since the early 80's these wines made by processing red grape varietals as if they were white wine have been the "everyday/everything" choice of Americans. They are fruity (the wine jargon for "sweet") and generally have a "nose" (a scent or smell that reminds you of something) in the sweet berries, strawberry, raspberry, etc. Restlings and Gewürztraminers from Washington and Oregon are fruity to an American pallet, but if you want Really Sweet!!! go with a German wine. Germans (restling and gewurztraminer are German grapes) love bitter beer and sweet wine. Blue Nun is one of the driest (not as sweet) German wines out there. I also like Zeller Swartz Katz (Black Cat wine by Zeller).
My wife and I prefer a white zinfadel. And now you can purchase in a box that will last for weeks. Great with steak or seafood.
omg! Apple wine from eagle haven winery. sedro-wooly, WA.
it's about $12 a bottle... plus shipping costs.
Everyone I've ever introduced it to were VERY inpressed.
They also have pear, peach, grape and more.
I've only tried the apple.
If it were the last thing I could do... I'd die a happy person!
