Sundried Tomatoes in the Oven! Sun Dried Tomatoes Recipe
I don't remember where I got this from but I love this recipe because it's just tomatoes. I know there's a few other on here seasoned with oil and herbs (which I'm dying to try). I use these when I don't want to compromise the flavor of the dish I'm making :O) These never make it to a jar to be stored. They're still a tiny bit soft with a loaded sweet flavor! There's nothing to measure so you can choose how many you want to make!I had to put in an amount to post it...
9 plum tomatoes
olive oil
18 servings

1. cut tomatos in half.
2. place on foil lined baking tray.
3. bake at 200 degrees for 8-10 hours.
4. Store in mason jar with olive oil.

Marinated Sun-Dried Tomatoes
I have not tryed this as yet, but plan on doing so very soon, I think making your own would be cheaper than the store bought jar stuff... The tomatoes will become slightly stronger with refrigeration time. Since I have not made this as yet, yield is only estimated. If you prefer to use fresh herbs, then use 2-1/2 tablespoons of fresh in place of dry.
1 (3 ounce) package sun-dried tomatoes
boiling water
1/2 cup olive oil
3-4 fresh minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
salt (optional)
1 cup

1. Place the sun-dried tomatoes in a small bowl.
2. Cover with boiling water (just to cover) and let soak for 3 minutes; drain.
3. Slice, and return to bowl.
4. Add in oil and remaining ingredients.
5. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
6. Store in the refrigerator covered in a glass jar.
7. **NOTE** the oil will thicken in the fridge, just warm slightly in the microwave before using.

Other Answers:
Buy them....they are way too much of a pain to dry them yourself in my opinion.

I guess you would put them in a pan (with a glass lid) and put them in the sun or for people that do these things often they keep the tomatoes on the vine and they have a shed and keep them in there???!!! well they wouldn't be sun dried but you can dry tomatoes in the oven at 200 degrees until they are dried the amount of time depends on the size and or the way they are cut
