And why do the british think we Americans serve our beer too cold? Never mind the fact that most commercial US beer tastes like dishwater...

Answers:
That guy that said british like beer at room temp is talking shite, Every pub or bar ive been in serve cold draught beer and lager. The imported bottles Are also always in a refrigerator.

Other Answers:
British like their beer at room temp. But I do believe recently there has been a cold beer binge lately.

lagers served cold,

better beers served room temperature.

some folks like their Stout & Porter chilled, too. Theirs no accounting for taste.

Chilling beer as a general practice makes it more "refreshing" and easier to chug but also allows for it to remain refreshing with less flavour (or flavor). It all depends on why you are drinking it...

Hi all,
I think it's safe to say that I live in the beer capital of the world, Germany. Here we like our beer refigerated, but not as cold as it is served in the US. If it is chilled too much it loses some of its taste. In the UK they serve beer and pale ale. Beer is served refrigerated, too, there, but ale at room temp. I don't like it that warm, but the Brits do. Well, why shouldn't they.
Cheers, Wolfy The prescribed temp for British beer is 11-13 Deg. C. (52-55 Degrees F) That is 'warm' for most people. A very interesting article found that many places serve it above 13 Deg. C, so the claim that the British get their beer warm is actually not false.
