Kitty said: Yes.What liquors are considered well liquors and why are they called that?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(What liquors are considered well liquors and why are they called that?),it will help you,my kids.
Answer:
The liquors that the bar has in the 'well' are call well liquors, they are what is standard for that bar. If you ask for 'Jack Daniels' it isn't usually in the 'well'. Well liquors are usually inexpensive liquors (cheap).
Bourbon, Vodka, Rum, Tequila & Gin
This is because most mixed drinks are made with one of these as the main alcohol ingredient
Dude up above is right, usually lower quality, never name brand
Drinks that a bartender draw from the bar (well) they are less quality than say, Johnny Walker from a bottle that sits on a shelf in back of him. they also should be less expensive. Any good bartender will answer your question specifically
Like everyone before me has said...well liquors are the bars standard alcohols used for making mixed drinks. If you want specific liquors like Absolut or Jack Daniels, you have to request them and they are usually on the shelves behind the bartender. Also...some bars have their well liquors on the liquor gun. These come out of a system that dispenses the exact shot with its precalculated measuring system. A lot of people prefer to order liquors that aren't on the gun, and sometimes you have to specifically ask about that as well. My casino uses Absolute so often it is on the gun. I have a lot of regulars who prefer Grey Goose or Skye because it is not.
as you call well liquors I call rail, it is the house whiskey or otherwise known as the cheaper liquor, Jack, Jim, Jose, Abssolute Captain Morgan and many others are what is called top shelf
