Well, I've never seen a wedding toast done with anything other than champagne?! If you're worried about cost get some cheap bubbly for the rest of the guests but a nicer bottle for the wedding party. They come in sweet and dry varieties and range from $5-$1000's.
stick to chardonnay. white zinfandel is cheap.
if you want still wine-gerwitztraminer or muller thurgau---if you want bubbly,asti riccadonna is the most favoured by the average drinker,about $18 a bottle australian
Champagne is traditional. The Bride and Groom can have fun with tastings to find one they like.
Champange or a light rosé wine!
wedding toasts are usually made with champagne... reasonably priced and pretty decent would be KORBEL brute. if you dont like the idea or champagne, go with a white wine, perhaps a pinot
