For Scotch, most of your single malts are wonderful... Glenfiddich is a good one and Highland Park is wonderful or if you can afford it Johnnie walker Blue or Johnnie Walker Swing
Brandy - Hennessey is one, or Baron de Sigognac. If you can find one from South Africa relitively inexpensive buy it, you will be surprised.
Also look for Hors D'age on the label it is the oldest X.O. is aged at lest 6 years or V.S.O.P. aged at least 5
Glenfiddich? Not sure of the spelling, but it's supposed to be the Scotch of all Scotchs.
for brandy you cant beat hennessy, scotch not sure only drink irish whiskey
