I'm new to bars and clubs. I went to one with my girlfriends yesterday. They ordered drinks with all these fancy names like "sex on the beach" and "mojito?". I didn't know any and so i ordered a pina colada. so, what drink do you order?

Basically a white russian with frangelico
Lynchburg Lemonade.
Basically a margarita with Jack instead of tequila.
Captain and Coke with a lime...always satisfies.
Southern Comfort and coke.
Vodka martini, up with a twist-vodka,very little vermouth shaken with ice and poured through a strainer with a twist of lemon peel.
Cape Cod-vodka and cranberry juice
Sea breeze-vodka and pineapple juice
Bloody Mary-vodka, worchestershire sauce,tabasco,celery salt,squeeze of lemon and tomato juice
Otherwise I drink beer or straight whiskey

A glass of red wine.

Long-Island Ice Tea. Delivers the most effect and if made, correctly, doesn't taste of the liquor it contains (rum, gin, vodka, tequila, sweet n' sour, triple sec and a splash of coke). As a bartender, you do have those who order things like "Cosmopolitan" or start discriminating about wine-they're usually trying to sound sophisticated, or are dictated by what is popular and I can spot them coming a mile away. You can also ask the bartender about different drinks and what they contain. If you really do love Pina Coladas, you need to have a homemade-you'll never go back to the concentrate! All you need is a can of cream of coconut (you can buy it at Wal-Mart-usually where the mixers are), a small can of pineapples, and rum. Blend together with ice, and they are unbelievable. You can also throw in some vanilla ice cream for that added creaminess and sweetness.
Black Russian consist vodka & kahlua.

it consist of 1 shot each of Vodka, gin, lime juice, and 2 shots each of pineapple juice and sprite.
There is a little book out there called The Big Book of Shots (says big but the size of the book is small) usually they sell it at liquor stores, this helped me a lot when I turned 21.
Try sticking with classic drinks like margarita's (my fav, but i love tequila so...) mojito's (which are minty) pina colada's (good for taste, but not usually that effective) long island ice tea (very effective, watch out)
