Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Which drinks would you recommend to mask the taste of hard alcohol the best?),it will help you,my kids.
About a month ago I had a bad experience involving way too much throwing up and passing out drinking vodka, and now I find it hard to stomach the taste of hard alcohol. I'm just wondering what you guys think is the best beverage to mix with hard liquor to cover up the taste as much as possible, until I can get used to the flavor again. If you can think of any hard alcohol which doesn't have as strong a flavor which I could drink easily then that would work too, thanks.
Answer:
Vodka and Tequila are the hardest liquor to get 'back into' after having a bad experience. Before venturing that way again, try rum first.
And start with Malibu Rum (they have coconut, mango and other flavors) and mix this with ice and frozen strawberries in a blender. I say Malibu because Parrot Bay and Whaler's are STRONGER in proof... so be sure to watch the % of alcohol by volume. Eventually you can get off the frozen drinks and then try mixed drinks (a myriad of fruit juices and mixers with rum). Then work your way to fruit juices and mixers with vodka.
I only suggest going the rum route because, if your palate is ultra sensitive - it will 'find' the vodka, even though you know you are masking it.
It took me awhile to not 'gag' after smelling it. You may 'mask' the taste, but the smell will take you 'back there.' So try something different and then use the strategy of working back toward that direction gradually.
Richie is correct - you should look into better brands. This goes across the board for any liquor. You'll find 'smoother' alcohol without a 'back bite' aftertaste if you spend a little time looking for quality.
But if your budget doesn't allow this, try my strategies above. You'll be okay!
raspberry lemonade works really well, that's why most young women drink it.
otherwise have you tried orange or pineapple juice.
even if you've masked the taste you have to be careful to drink in moderation, which is harder when you cant taste it. I had an equally bad experience with bacardi breezers, now eve nthe sugary smell of those things makes me to never drink again.
pineapple juice with spiced captain morgans rum is awesome...i dont like the taste of hard liquor either
er, a good vodka doesnt have much of a taste or smell.
Thats why its the liqour of choice for spiking drinks.
You should not drink more than about 2 ounces of liqour an hour if you are gonna stay reasonably sober.
Orange juice or a cola works well as a mixer.
Try a Harvy wallbanger .
You can mix vodka and orange juice, Vodka and tomato juice, it sounds weird but whiskey and ice tea is really good I call it an "iced Bernard"!
a mint drink
Try some alcopops like smirnoff ice or reef. Taste just like lemonade or juice but have the same effect of drinking alcohol. My favourite used to be Cranberry Bacardi Breezer but they don't make them anymore :-(
Ive found that cranberry juice or most energy drinks work really well
Simply put, the better the quality vodka, the better the taste. If your consuming "store" brand vodka, its gonna taste like rubbing alcohol or gasoline. If you spend the extra buck on something good (IE, Grey Goose, Chopin, Belvadere) the taste is much better.
I like apple cider. Not juice, but genuine cider.
I can really dump vodka in it (even the cheap junk) and it is covered very well.
I've found that pineapple juice or a pineapple/orange/banana mix (Dole and Minute Maid both make one) mask liquor very well. Also, a good Vodka, like someone else said, is relatively flavorless. Or try gin. It has NO flavor, but that means you have to be careful with it.
Lemonade!
But why have a sustained taste of hard liquor when you can have a 3 second taste with a shot and a chaser?
Bloody Mary
Cranberry juice or Rose's Cocktail Infusions..the watermelon Mix...I swear it taste just like a watermelon Jolly Rancher...so good. But be careful cause the alcohol will sneak up on u. Or u can try T.G.I Friday's Long Island Ice tea..it does the trick and it's only 3 bucks a bottle..not for sharing though..
But I am sorry for your experience, I can hold my liquor well and at the moment my fav is Jagger straight...just like black jelly beans...
