I like the taste of Averna, Campari, and many ethnic apertifs that many find disgusting. Nice that God created us all unique.
to tell you the truth, all these drinks with a high level of alcohol like whiskey, tequila and sambuca taste foul to me too. i dont like them at all and i dont drink them but maybe to someone else they taste great and baileys for example that i like, tastes foul for them. it has to do with tastes..each person like different stuff

sambuca dosent taste that bad, the really foul one is campari, also fernet branca, the ones with an unusual taste like jaggermeister or chartreuse are actually quite nice.
Sambuca does NOT taste foul!!! Come on!

I like sambuca, but I know a lot of people don't. A friend got me hooked on it a few years ago with this: Add 1 part sambuca to 6 parts water and add some ice. It mellows the intense flavor, and loses the sticky, syrupy texture. This also works well with Pernod.
my friends in college use to do some crazy stuff with it, which i think helped make it not taste so bad. we lit it with matches beofre we shot it (blew it out first) swished it in our mouthes for 30 seconds swallowed then took a long breath in! man it was fun
Why ask a question based on an opinion? You may not enjoy Sambuca, plenty of people do, and I'm sure there are some things that you enjoy that they consider foul. To each his own.
