Hi...I had dinner out...I had a dessert wine that left a buttery taste in my mouth afterwards...it was sooo good..I just don't know the name of it .anyone have any clue what that wine could have been? as well as any other good dessert wines out there that you think I would enjoy...

Thank you for your time!

Answers:
if you are talking about texture, "buttery or creamy or syrupy", then you are probably talking about an ice wine...? was it sweet also? maybe a moscato? hard to tell from the question.
But here are some good desert wines~
Ice Wine - super sweet and sugary, syrupy (cheesecake)
Moscoto - semi sweet and sugary (sugars, cakes)
Late Harvest Rieslings - pretty sweet and sugary (cakes, fruit)
Port (ruby) - sweet but more berry fruit (chocolate!)
Port (tawney) - sweet but more nutty (hazelnut, almond etc) (nuts, cigars)
both ports are noticably hogher alcohol
DiSarrano - Almond Liquer

good luck~

Check out Old Fart Wines.

I don't know about your dessert wine with the buttery taste but that sounds wonderful.

I sometimes like a cordial like Bailey's, or Irish Whiskey, or a flavor like Grand Marnier. Try some of those, you may find your buttery flavor in a cordial for dessert.

and u didn't save my any? A Riesling?

I would think it was a muscat. Any fruit wines are nice dessert wines as well as the ice wines ( a little pricey but worth it)

Sauternes and Ports are the best.
Enjoy. Word of warning, cheap ports are bad! are you buying?
