I've seen this done once.
you scoop out a a hole in a watermelon so that it will hold a good amount of vodka without spilling. then you pour vodka into the hole.. the watermelon cells will slowly absorb the vodka and later exchange water for the vodka in the hole. Eventually there will be mostly water in the hole, and vodka in the watermelon. Voila! Your watermelon will be a vodka melon.

We used to take these to the cricket.
Carefully cut a hole into one pointy end with a really sharp knife, being cautious when taking the circular plug out as it has to fit in well when finished.
We used to get a thin dowel rod and insert it in different directions inside the melon.
Then drain out liquid.
Then pour in two bottles of vodka, and replace the plug with care so it seals perfectly.
let this stand for a few hours, then turn around all directions on a regular basis.
Quite often we would do this over a period of two days before going to the match.

Remove the cap from the vodka. Trace around the cap on the watermelon. Cut out the hole. Invert the watermelon and place it on the top of the vodka bottle. Invert again so the bottle is on top and drains into the melon. When all the vodka is gone, rotate the melon again so the bottle fills up with the juice. Makes very nice drink and some outrageous watermelon slices. I did it with pure grain alcohol.
Make a hole in top side of watermelon when it's laying on it's side and place the complete bottle of vodka down into the hole and let it sit for a day. The vodka will then fill the inside of the melon.

I would poke some holes in the top of water melon and add Vodka to holes,wait a bit for it to absorb.Coming from a recovering alcoholic...LOL

Serve ice-cold. Perfect for summer parties.
If you like, you can substitute the vodka for champagne. Some also use tequila, dark rum, or pernod in stead of vodka.
Try to experiment to find the spirit that suits you best.
