Answers:
Port is the fortified wine from Portugal. It has been popular for hundreds of years - and over those years a number of customs regarding serving Port have arisen.

At the simplest, since it has high alcohol, it is normally served in small measures in small glasses, but I'd suggest not too small because a larger glass will let you appreciate it's bouquet or smell. Serve it cool.

Port lasts a while after opening, so no need to finish the bottle in one go.

If you want tobe traditional, then the makers of Cockburns Port have a page with some background. See http://www.cockburns-usa.com/about_port_serving.html

(although I always understood it was the Bishop of Norwich that was tardy with the Port. Some people use round bottomed Port decanters so that the bottle cannot be left on the table un passed.)

Other Answers:
use a wide bottom wine glass (a red wine glass) this gives the wine room to breath in the glass. and open it at least 15-30 minutes before serving. and i believe it can be served at normal wine celler temps which should be 50-65 degress F.
Sexist dog that I am, I take my male guests out on the patio after dinner, hand out cigars, pass out the port. Dip the end of the cigar in it once in a while. (The unlit end.) A slice of stilton and some roasted walnuts go well with it.
