For a drink straight from the melon, just cut a nice size hole toward the top ( save the "plug" to close it back) & pour in a 5th of your favorite vodka. For a party, use an ice pick to punch several holes into the melon & insert flexible straws so your guests can drink straight from the melon. I prefer frozen watermelon margaritas which you can do in the blender, just substitute watermelon pieces ( seedless) instead of lime or margarita mix. Garnish glasses with a small slice of melon with the rind still attached. Enjoy!!

I saw it done at a restaurant one time. All they did was cut a small hole in the watermelon and tipped a bottle of whatever alcohol you wanted up in it and let it sit in the fridge for a few days.
That might be for melon balls though.

Ya take the watermelon and a bottle of vodka. Puncture the watermelon, put the vodka bottle in it, upside down, let it drain into the watermelon, and let it sit for a while...and start sippin
