J?germeister is a strong (70 proof) herbal flavored liqueur. Supposedly there are over 50 different herbs in it, but which ones those are is kept secret. It has absolutely nothing to do with licorice.
I live in Germany, where this is from, drink it all the time. The owner of the bar where I like to hang out gives me shots of this stuff all the time on the house, so you can - for a change - trust me on this one.
And no, there is NOT deer blood in it.
The only jaegermeister I've ever hears of is a sausage.

I don't know but I had one earlier tonight. It didn't taste all that great.
I think it tastes like cough syrup, and then we make Yaggie Bombs that are made with red bull, and I think those are even worst, but on Christmas Eve I took 4 shots to go see the in laws and it did the job.

it's probably a liquer, like ouzo. it can't be classified as a schnapps, whisky, gin, rum, vodka or tequila.
