I think as we get older, our tastebuds get old and wear out, some even die... it still tastes gross but us old people can't tell
You still don't like the taste - your brain associates events in your life when you drank the beer and make you like it. Good times!
It's a fairly complex flavor thing. And when you're younger, your taste buds haven't developed enough experience, or boredom, to appreciate beer.
Just like if you took some 15 year olds to a very fancy, pricy, French restaurant and served them 7 courses of stuff with capers, and dill cream sauce, and salmon tartar, and sweetbreads, and quail eggs, etc., they probably wouldn't like the food, because their taste buds are still in a burgers, and pizza phase. (Of course not everyone but I think you see what I mean.)
As you get older, that stuff's nothing new, and you seek more palate excitement.
