Yes, because alcohol is pure sugar! Drinking it is like drinking sugar, that is why diabetics cant drink. Red dry wine has lesser sugar, but still enough to make you gain weight. And also alcohol interferes with the liver who is the fat metabolizes of our body. Eat a reasonable diet, drink plenty of water exercise and stop drinking in 2 weeks you will see the difference.

Alcohol contains alot of sugar and is very high in calories and therefore, as you are consuming this at night, you are not excersing or burning off the calories and the body stores these excess calories as fat.I think if you stop drinking it will help you loose weight, but I would recommend also exercising for 20 mins 3 times a week.

Also of you have been drinking that much over a long time you may have a fatty build up around your liver making it hard 2 filter toxins out.
