hi friends, in one sitting, how many glasses do you drink of wine on any given day/night...is drinking a bottle (750ml) in one night be considered alot for one person? would this be unhealthy to have one bottle of wine once a week or twice? thanks..

Actually it depends on your physiology, whether you have it with your meal,or socially, or if you consume other types of alcoholic drinks.. My husband and I over the course dinner and snacks in the evening have been known to finish a large bottle. (these are equal to regular 2 bottles+ a glass) And we do not get drunk as it is sipped with each bite of food and is over many hours . We also have coffee and water in between. Normally though one decent glass a day with at supper. We consider wine a food group. I love to whine about wine. As for healthy that depends on you. My doctor has told us our blood, health is great, and I do not get indigestion as much either. ya wine! But it is red wine that I am talking about, white gives me a headache and heart burn! Now that is my take but remember if you have pre existing liver condition speak to your doctor! I have added some links to investigate and make up your own mind, be healthy take care, Ps,we rarely have a drink socially except over dinner, hope that helps.

Take a glass of wine as a unit of alcohol, then for men it is 21 units per week, for women 14.
That is considered the 'safe' amount...

But not much of a party eh?

It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with, how long it takes you to drink the bottle, are you having food with it, and how much alcohol there is in the bottle. Are we talking a German wine with 8% alcohol, or a Californian blockbuster with 16%?

Over a long evening with food, its easy to drink a bottle's worth and done occasionally it won't cause any problems, although remember there are a lot of calories in alcohol.

I suggest you always have water to hand. Drink the water to quench thirst (rather than wine) and sip the wine for the pleasure it gives.

If you suffer the next morning, cut down.
